You have Slo and Boosie in the mix.

Slo is a legit barrister.

How will legalizing prostitution stop trafficking?

By legalizing prostitution it will take customers away from the traffickers and reduce their market thus reducing the demand which will in turn decrease the supply of trafficked women

There was no middle school when I was in school. There was Pk-6 (elementary) 7-8( junior high) 9-12 (high school).

You didn’t. But the lady you are advocating does. It’s in the first sentence of your quote.

I know the difference and I’d hire Bossie 10xs over Jake the Fake.

this sentence?

quote:

Right now, people who are victims of trafficking or witness trafficking are afraid themselves to go to law enforcement because they might be arrested for it,” Landry said. “This would be a clear line between who is being trafficked and who is engaging in consensual sexual behavior

it doesn't say that trafficking will stop

it says those who are trafficked will have less legal leverage to report being trafficked

women who are sex trafficked are arrested for prostitution ALL the time. LEO is perceived as a threat to them. now i'm not really making this argument (contrary to what Mr. Illiterate claims), but it is a logical argument that if trafficked sex workers didn't fear LEO they'd be less scared to report their situation...at least US citizens of the age of majority (THOSE are the 2 big factors that counter Mandie's argument)

Legalizing prostitution doesn’t legalize sex trafficking

She is clearly implying that legalizing prostitution will have a negative impact on trafficking.

I assert it would have the opposite effect. It will encourage trafficking.

Which also leads to their traffickers being arrested. Now the pimps and handlers have one less thing to worry about.

And FTR, As long as everyone is of age and consenting, I don’t care what they do.

Are you having trouble getting laid? And this is your solution?

Have you ever researched an area that allows prostitution?
quote:

On average, countries with legalized prostitution report a greater incidence of human trafficking inflows.

Pimps have to meet supply/demand expectations too
quote:

Nevada is one of the 10 worst states for human trafficking. Nevada has the seventh highest incidence of rape and ranks second across the nation in the rate of women murdered

quote:

New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Germany has not resulted in uniformly safer conditions. Economists’ analyses show that countries where commercial sex is legal experience higher sex-trafficking inflows.

I agree with that

Stop? No

quote:

I assert it would have the opposite effect. It will encourage trafficking.

There is an ample supply of potential legal sex workers. The demand would have to be pretty insane.

It's theoretically possible though. The recent normalization of sex work makes me think there is plenty of legal SW supply

There will always be some trafficking. Like I said earlier, perfect is the enemy of good.
