I hate those "real" christians that turn their light off on Halloween. What a bunch of assholes. Oh no, giving candy to a kid will send me to hell....

I'm a borderline atheist, and I agree with you.

I attribute it to the illiteracy being caused by texting.

Jane, you ignorant slut. The "X" in X-mass is not what you think it is. As already mentioned in this thread, it is the Greek letter Chi. This was first used by the early Christian church to represent Christ.

The X in Xmas is the Greek chi. It is a traditional abbreviation for Christ. People who complain about this sound pretty ignorant to me. And where in the X did this thread come from in August?

An easily learned factoid that self righteous indignant bible thumpers will never bother to learn

I'm a rather laid back guy, however I get rather pissed when seeing and/or hearing the word Xmas rather than Christmas

You can turn a computer on, type in a website, post on a forum, and then submit the post for discussion, but you can't go to Google and type in "Why is it Xmas and not Christmas?"

This! Do a little research before you jump on the bandwagon with a bunch of idiots. That wagon might be headed right off the cliff.

Xmas is as trashy as saying Happy Turkey Day instead of Thanksgiving.

Pronouncing it "Ex"-mas is retarded. The letter isn't an X, and it isn't any shorter to say.
