Does organ donation occur also with people who, for example, suddenly die in a car wreck?

Yes.

Staff is quicker to give up on donors and you won’t get preference in triage

Can you provide one example in which this has happened? When someone goes into the ER or is in the hospital and suddenly needs medical attention do you really think the people who are working on that person really has time to stop and think "check to see if they are an organ donor before we go any further".

It is just infuriating because making false comments like that regarding organ donation makes others think that it is maybe true.

Meaning less organ donors and more people dying while waiting on an organ transplant list.

ETA: People that actually think those things are on the same level as those that don't believe in vaccines.

What was the age? My brother was in an accident and was a donor.

I've been designating myself an organ donor since the program began and have that designation on my driver's license and something my wife knows is my wish.

A good friend of mine lost his 10 yr. old son when he got struck by a car and was being kept alive on life support. They made the decision to remove life support and donate his organs to help those in need. That was their small bit of solace in the whole ordeal, knowing their sons organs went to people who were in dire need and improved their lives.

My late father-in-law also did this and it was right at 4 years after his death that the family got his cremains back from LSU Medical School.

My wife also wants her body to go this route upon her death so medical students can learn on a real human body.

My cousin died in 1997. He was only 19 yrs old and my aunt donated his organs. She was able to meet the person who received his eyes. She said it was very therapeutic.

I’ve saw a lot of dead people at the hospital at early age and used to say no on my license when I was younger because I saw how they treated an organ donor when they died...trying to get to them as fast as possible and felt like it was disrespectful... but as I grew older I realized how much of a difference it makes on someone else’s life.... nothing to lose and you’re saving someone else’s life. I once scrubbed in as a student for a lung transplant surgery, waiting for about 2 hours on the airplane delay but it was awesome that someone else got a new life. Proud organ donor now

Agree here. You won't need them after you die, but still could help someone.

I believe France recently changed their law so that everyone is a donor. They let you opt-out as opposed to opt-in.
