pretty sexy if you ask me. i'm fairly tricep strong.

I feel like i've been hitting a wall... i got a long ways to go to 315 so i'm not sure how feasible it is or isn't for me, i've only been back in gym since august.

I don't max on bench but I have a goal that I was well on my way to and just plateaued the last month or so. I'm not sure if I need to change my routine up or what. I'm continuing to make gains in other muscle groups but kind of stuck, especially in flat bench, for chest.

Back day:

Pulling things down, pulling myself up, pulling toward my body, etc. That's all.

Do you do close grip Bench press? Another great exercise for breaking through a wall for bench is to do negatives. Your body needs to get use to much heavier weight. Grip strength is also a big factor. Also, try some weighted dips.

Go halfway down and up the weight. Think of it as training for the lock out.

I use to do mine on the Smith machine because I didn't always have a spotter and I was lifting too much weight to try it on my own.

What kind of routine are you doing for flat bench, trying to go up in strength like that? I'm just curious. I tried a couple things in the past but have been doing 8-6-4-2-burnout since July and was making good progress. Just seem to have hit a wall.

Tricep pushdowns (diplike) and I have the machine loaded at its maximum.
Skulls
Cable pusdowns (v-bar or straight)
Lying pullover and presses
Close grip presses

I have a bunch of stuff I rotate in and out.

My sticking point is ~6" off the chest. Once I'm past that, I'm good.

dude i'm not sure what to do either. I've always done teh pyramid 10, 8, 6, 4-5, 3-4 type thing too.

I'm trying to go heavier sets now starting with 8 ending with like 2 or so.

This next week, may do a warmup.... do a mid heavy like 1 rep just to warm up weights but go straight to heaviest... then bump it down doing my normal 4-8 type reps

Good point . Instead, use chains while you bench to help with lock out.

Ever tried skullcrushers on a decline bench? Much better on the elbows IMO.
