I remember that all too well. Lived in Ashland growing up. We had about a foot of snow already on the ground then got hit with another 22" overnight. Everything was shut down that first day. School was out for the entirety of the month of February (maybe we did go one or two days that month), and we were making up snow days until late June.

I have hated snow ever since that school year went almost to July.

Yep, we were out of school forever. My sister lives in flatwoods for several years when Ashland HQ was there. I lived a while in Grayson. Know the area well.

I like to check on the weather up there every now and then to see what's going on back in the old haunts. Radar is currently showing Carter, Greenup, Boyd, and Lawrence counties getting hammered with heavy snow. (I almost miss it. Almost.)

Stay warm up there and enjoy the peaceful stillness that descends upon everything when a heavy snow blankets the ground.
