American cultural norms and values

This refers to the capitalist society that has made this country great.
quote:

Third World peoples do not have access

They have their own country that is an older society which has obviously not been successful. "blacks and other" is the clear indicator that they would rather identify with "Third World peoples" ... and what da hell is "other" doing between "blacks" and "Third"?
quote:

blacks .... do not have access to the power to enforce any prejudices

Most certainly not true because some have studied, worked and even used the easier standards for black people to get and hold positions of power. I must assume this writing (1973) has been proven to be incorrect on a national level. It most certainly been proven wrong in my world.

Of note "1973"? We are discussing something written back in 1973? Really!??! Are any of you old enough to know what it was like in 1973?

As I've told StrongSafety in the past, I was there. I saw with my own eyes what it was like. In fact I remember what I saw long before that. Injustices? Dam right! I saw it. I've also seen how this has all developed. Anything written in 1973 is completely out of date and this one appears to be totally incorrect.

Oh, well never mind. If someone wrote it down, it must be true.

1973!!! 1973!!!! A black person would have only had the opportunity to get an operator's job at local chemical plants. Opportunities were still only opening up for black people.

This referenced writing which would have been written before 1973 in order to be printed in that year is written from a point of view completely out of touch with what would develop. Hell, I may have written something similar back then.

I know what it was like. You just can't win this one with me.

why are you continuously quoting 40+ year old sentiment?

maybe you should try to move on and stop living in the past like the rest of the people pointing the blame at everyone but themselves.

grow up
