Mitch has already said they will vote on a nominee before the election. He released an official statement earlier that said this.

I've been watching Tim pool report this for the last 2 months. Support for BLM and democrats is declining significantly, especially from where it was at it's height in June.

The mayors of the long standing democrat stronghold of the iron range in MN have all publicly endorsed Trump after being a monolithic Dem guarantee for decades. Trump and Biden are essentially tied in some polls in the rust belt which doesn't bode well for Joe.
If this trend continues, the only hope the dems will have is to just cheat their way to victory. But, they've been planning that for months now with the mail in voting scheme and they have a good chance at pulling it off.

Actually, they got good polling data, but they continued to overplay their hand and it backfired. They look at these issues like children - If one protest is popular, 4 protests will be 4x as popular!
