You’re the worst kind of person. A fricking moron that doesn’t realize they’re the stupid one and everyone is laughing at them.

The way it works is the executive has a constitutional duty to nominate a person to fill federal judicial vacancies. Each nominee is subject to advice and consent of the senate.
When Obama nominated Merrick Garland Obama fulfilled his constitutional duty.
McConnell responded with his constitutional duty and advised against it. Merrick Garland simply did not have the votes.
Now with the current vacancy Trump has a constitutional duty to nominate a replacement.
McConnell then has a constitutional duty to provide consent or not.
The constitutional top line is really not that complicated. However it gets slightly more complicated when the senate parliamentary procedures are introduced. But thanks to Harry Reid changing senate rules right before his retirement senate parliamentary procedures have become very simple. The nominee just needs a simple majority or 50 +VP to consent to an executive nominee.
All of this.
Where you run into problems is getting the senate to agree to a vote before the election.
The USSC doesn't have anything on the docket that can't be pushed to next year.
And even though the Republicans control the senate, Trump isn't very popular with them.
Don't be surprised if they make a deal to not do anything until the next election is decided.
And then: don't expect Trump's first nominee to get the position. Trump, if he gets to make the selection, will have to show his diplomatic skills.
Expect a more moderate judge than a more hard-core partisan, no matter who nominates.
Besides, let us not forget: the last few judges appointed have been middle of the road usually. Even Kavanaugh can be unpredictable on a case to case basis (see Curtis Flowers).
I'd argue that the last hard core partisan appointed was Thomas, and he's still very fair.
RBG was more partisan, but you can't say she wasn't fair.

I do find it interesting that someone that identifies as a liberal finds joy in what they perceive as an environment that isn’t tolerant towards a religion and is killing it off, though.
Uh sorry to break it to you bubba but I’m a registered republican. Just one of the ones from way back when that doesn’t believe every one I disagree with is a baby eating satanist. I also recognize that Neanderthals like yourself have done more to destroy the “Judeo Christian principles” position that antifa ever could

lying is not a good look. Trump didn't have anything to do with the shooting. be more truthful, just because you're a godless degenerate doesn't make it right to be a liar.

Somehow, in my lifetime, the "Silent Majority" as they love to call themselves became the biggest and loudest conspiracy theorists ever.
Yea. Maybe more people would have sympathy for them if they didn’t exchange the New Testament for the Left Behind series. It’s a shameful decline of societal standards and we’re all paying the price. Do you think there was this sort of reaction back when Hugo black or who the frick ever died back in the day?

I’m not a Christian. I just find it laughable that the left thinks saying hOw ChRisTiAn oF yOu is some kind of principled retort to positions they don’t agree with, Bubba.
Antifa isn’t real, stupid.

Agree. Trump didn’t tell this child to bring his semi auto out to the counter protest.

if that’s the standard, and apparently it is, how many people have been killed in Obama inspired BLM protests since Michael Brown was killed “running away with his hands up”
