A couple of people spray-painted "Gen Beauregard" on the remnants - you can see where that has been removed in the above photo -
and they arrested the guys who did it on the charge of defacing public property.

I think the firefighters either had their jobs threatened, or the union got some sort of payoff to keep quiet
