Pretty sure it was based on listening to the podcast about it. The police released a number of statements that were untrue to poison the well.
The need an escape thing could be translated a number of ways with many not meaning he'd kill his kid.
Dude... He went to his vehicle on his lunch break. Actually went and opened is car doors to "grab something"...then went back and worked 4 more hours only to "discover his mistake" later.
It's on CCTV from his employers parking lot.

From my understanding, this didn't happen either. What the detective said was the car "smelled like death." An expert witness testified that there wasn't enough time for decomposition to begin, so those smells wouldn't have been present.
I would imagine a kid soiling hinself in either panic or upon death (which can happen) and cooking in a hot car for a few hours would qualify as a "like death" odor situation.
ETA: grammar fix
ETA2: dmjones - just read your post.

I used to be a regular poster on the Scout Dawgpost and would occasionally go read the Bamaboard. They had a long time and very well respected poster who used the name DocSolomon.
Ross Harris is his son. I remember the day after it happened he posted asking for prayers as his grandchild was the one who died in the car the day before. He said that day it was a terrible accident. Over the next few days he updated all of his friends on the board when it was starting to come out that it was a possible intentional act. He defended his son against many who were insinuating it was intentional. The guy eventually faded away to never posting. It was weird because he was like the board patriarch. I guess he eventually had to come to grips with what his son had done.
Think I'll bounce over there now to see what has been posted.

Seasoned detectives investigating the situation threw up from the smell in the car
From my understanding, this didn't happen either.
When creatures die they tend to evacuate their bowels. Bake that for 4 hours in a hot car and imagine the smell.
The vomiting was mentioned in the local media. I saw no retractions.

How in the hell does that happen?
It happens and most are accidental.
I don't believe this was an accident.

Correct as well.
There were even sections the didn't have this smell in the initial reports but were added later

Harris was arrested at the scene and charged with murder that same day.
Harris moved to Georgia from Tuscaloosa in 2012.

Not sure what this has to do with anything. You're trying to make light of this child's death because his evil sociopath of a father attended the University of Alabama? That's pretty sick.
I attended the University of Alabama, have a child the same age as Cooper was when he was murdered, and I've never considered leaving my son in a car. Hell, I don't even leave him in my vehicle while I return a shopping cart. He stays in the shopping cart until it's returned then walked back to the car holding my hand.

He looked up how to survive in prison...so he'd rather spend the rest of his life in prison without a son than be free and have one? I mean it appears it was intentional but there are some strange parts to this story

Of course this dude is guilty. Yes, it's possible for it to be a terrible accident in some cases, but this isn't one of those cases. The guy was on "child-free" sites and in some kind of hyper-sexual state where his mind was basically consumed by pussy because he was having illicit conversations with six different women that day while his son was dying. He wanted to be free of the child so he could hook up with whoever whenever without the responsibility of a child.
The second that guy got into his car after work, he would have been overwhelmed by the smell of feces and death in a hot car. He drove for miles before stopping and saying he suddenly realized his son was still in the back seat. The police at the scene said the car reaked of the "smell of death." He's getting what he deserved. If he thought having a child was tough on his freedom, he's in for a shock.

Are you mentally ill?
I quoted an AP news article reprinted on WWW.AL.COM.
According to the AP website "The Associated Press is the most trusted source of independent news and information in the world".
According to the WWW.AL.COM website: "Get the latest Alabama Local News, Sports News & US breaking News".
This article never mentioned he went to the University of Alabama. Neither did I.
The AP and WWW.AL.COM website felt it was worth mentioning. So, if you have a problem with that, then discuss it with the geniuses from Alabama.
Justin Ross Harris guilty of murder in son Cooper's hot car death
By The Associated Press on November 14, 2016 at 2:23 PM, updated November 14, 2016 at 3:15 PM
You should be more upset about this:
Harris was also found guilty of sending sexual text messages to a teenage girl and asked for nude photos of her pubic area. The girl testified Harris knew she was in high school the months they swapped sexual banter when she was 16 and 17, and Harris several times sent her photos of his penis. He was asking for a photo of her breasts the day Cooper died.
I'm just the messenger.

I'm certainly not "father of the year" by any stretch. But I would never forget my son or daughter in the car. I work shift work and a lot of times coming off dogs with maybe 3 hours of sleep and walking around like a zombie, and have never come close to forgetting them. Sorry, not buying that. If you think that's normal, you need to get checked for early Alzheimer's or dementia.
I think every case of this happening is either intentional or the parent is high/drunk.
