Life is better, and I do not regret it.
I've never met anybody that quit drinking and regretted it.

Any success stories? Looking for advice on how to completely kick the urge.
Well, I quit completely but for reasons that probably won't apply to you.
I found out about two years ago that I had fairly advanced liver disease. It kind of pissed me off because I was not a heavy drinker (at least not since 30 years ago when I was late teens, early 20's). Best they could tell is it is genetic since I've had several family members have it - some who didn't drink at all, some socially, some heavy).
Anyway, Doc says doesn't matter, don't drink at all. So it'll be two years this November. It can be a drag when sitting out with the neighbors and everyone is having a beer or when at a wedding reception or something and a whisky would taste so good. But to be honest, I haven't had any real temptations to drink.

Now that you say that. I guess so.
