Yup. We have to be contemporaries. I remember a little burger drive in joint on Burnside near where NAPA is. I think there's still a Mexican place there.

Thanks redbone, I will ask my mom tomorrow. She just has trouble remembering some stuff at 86.

Not what you're talking about but this made me think of Pearl's Bar.

I have a lot of trouble remembering and I'm "only" 65. Dad usta sit me on the counter and some nice lady that worked there would give me cokes.

How about Duke's Drive in right next to Colonial skating rink. Soft serve ice cream. Duke's shut down when I was just a kid.

Pearl's was the first place I had a legal drink at 18.

Triangle D. That place must have been wrecked into thousands of times.
Bayou Manchac, played up & down the banks many a day.
Brunos Grocery. Mr Nick was the coolest.
Amite River, ran trout lines a many a night.
Pasqua theater.
Colonial Drive in and Skating rink.
Dutchtown Baptist Church. Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Bon Lou Shopping Center.
Manchac Acres subdivision.
Mom used to live at a place called 'Busy Needles'.
Allied Chemical in Giesmar, dad worked there...
Huge cow paster behind the Libary in Praireville. Roamed those fields as a kid.
Now Ascension Parish is developed and it just saddens me to no end.

I am now living in NELA way up in the sticks.

Did somebody get locked in or break in Captains Quarter and drink a bunch of booze and tear up the place? I don't know why I am remembering something like that.

Chip's Grocery. Buying vodka and mixing it with Hawaiian Punch at the fountain drink machine.

I saw someone earlier mention Mule Train. Didn't he have a brother that everyone called Poochie?

Who remembers Wee Wee hanging out by Delchamp's begging for money on any given Friday night? Drunk as hell...

Cornbread was often mentioned in the same sentence with Mule Train...

Remember when the dude jumped off of the pool table and jamed a pool stick up into hid nut sack and lower abdomen?
