I still Deadlift once a week with L4-L5 and L5-S1 herniations. By focussing on form in the beginning instead of weigh, I can life pain free and do most things pain free. Even if you have back problems in my opinion you should still deadlift. Just focus on proper form and keeping your abs and lower back tight.

Yes, started recently. Have been focusing on form and lifting relatively light weight until I feel more comfortable.

I deadlifts, do high pulls, good mornings, cleans, kb swings, etc.
