Was hoping to play at Kiawah Island but that doesn't look very promising

They're gonna be cutting off the power to Kiawah soon if I remember what I read correctly.

I evacuated the Island.

A decent chunk stayed, not good.

Could have been much worse. Nothing too serious and my parents will be able to return home at 7am tomorrow morning.

How's everyone doing???

I'm willing to bet, not only will you not play golf at kiawah next weekend, they won't let you on the island. They're going to take a good shot tonight.

Not bad so far. I mosied over to Mt Pleasant. Hunkering down at a huge 24hr vet clinic w a generator and higher ground (wifes job and able to bring all our animals). Just some rain and mild wind. Nothing getting crazy yet but once again, I worry about the marshes and the surge.

We evacuated Charleston yesterday. Spending a couple days in Northern Georgia. Visited Helen today and the whole family fell in love with it. Making the best out of a bad situation

As of yesterday, it looked like the forecasted storm surge went down some as well as seemed area went for Hurricane Warning to Hurricane Watch zone. Is that accurate? Have things started looking a little better as far as projected damages from it?

According to New 4 Jax, the pier is "listening", which means it is leaning...

1) do these places outside of America have insurance systems like we do?

2) how long does it take places like that to recover?? Tourism is their main economy I assume ... they've got to recover "somewhat" quickly for that purpose right??

TWC had someone talking about some "island" near SC that about 100 people chose to stay ... TWC peeps weren't impressed with the decision made by those people.

Bunkered down in Charleston with all of my best friends. Watching the Clemson game tonight before power goes out.

I've been running our hazard models repeatedly for a 12' surge and should be good.

The Live Oaks around my house though...

Anyways, keep us lowcountry boys in your thoughts.
