i left a BIG pack of chicken breasts on the counter to thaw. Went to check on them about 30 minutes later and they were gone. WTF??

I searched the whole house and found nothing. i thought maybe I had mislaid them and surely they would be found or start to smell after a few days. Nada. A week passed. No chicken, no smell. Hmmmm WTF??

Then about a week later my son got bit by a cat in our apt. (We didn't have a cat). My front door was open but the burglar bar door was closed and locked (my son was playing in the sun and fresh air in the LR.)

Aha! So this damn cat must have come in before and stole chicken and then left.

I had called management before (a few times) on the lady who was feeding and breeding feral cats and management told me that i was imagining things and that the catlady had NO cats.

Well I was pissed. So i went and caught the kittens that were running loose, put them in a box and drove to the managements office.

There i found the young lady who had told me the cats didn't exist.

She saw me and told me that I could not bring cats into the building like that. I just smiled and said " Well they shouldn't bother you seeing as you don't believe they exist!"

Then I dumped the box of kittens on her desk and left with the empty box. The sight of her covered in crawling kittens was pretty funny.

A very expensive pair of hockey skates, stick, and gloves. Skates and gloves probably smelled like death.

I dropped a partial denture off at a Dr's office(dentist)late one evening and he said to just leave it in the mailbox so I did. Next day he calls me asking me where it was. I told him I left it where he told me to at about 6:00 pm the day before. Someone stole the partial denture framework with denture teeth set in pink base wax. We looked around the neighborhood but found nothing. What could someone possibly do with someone else's partial denture not even processed in acrylic? Lol.......... Had to start all over again.

I had my ipod stolen in college out of my unlocked car and the dorm sent an email to saying they have video of the perpetrators and will be pursuing legal action.

Ipod was sitting on my hood the next morning

Someone broke into my house in college during my "heady festival" days.

Stole some tapestries off the walls, some "stuff" that was hidden in a shoe box under my bed, and a framed Widespread Panic poster. Left an x-box, tvs, dvd players, laptops, etc.

Turns out it was my former roommate who we had kicked out for writing a bad check for rent. The way we figured it out you ask? He locked the doors back with his key.

Let's just say he didn't become a brain surgeon after college.

Not that strange, but an empty safe. I got a bit of satisfaction knowing they probably work hard to get it open for nothing

I bet the sons of bitches thought they had them something....

I think it would be a clever idea to keep a cheap safe full of worthless crap out in the open, and keep all your valuables in a good safe hidden out of sight.

My grandma used to mark which of her jewelry was real vs fake, she was robbed and they took all the fake stuff. I guess they thought she was trying to fool them

Not strange but a funny story about stolen things. When I was younger, one of my dad’s friends had one of those cars where the gas cap was hidden behind the license plate. Well the man also stored his spare car key in a magnetic holder that he attached to the back of the license plate.

One night, someone evidently came to steal the man’s gas, saw the key and stole his car instead. When the guy arrived to where his car was parked, the only thing left was the gas cap.

A personal massager "aka vibrator", not once, but twice. First one was taken from a hotel room in Scottsdale (including case, charger, and silicone approved lubricant) yet left my almost new iPad which was laying on top of it in my suitcase on the luggage rack. Second one taken by someone handling baggage coming back from Punta Cana, not sure if in the DR resort / airport or back in US along the way. Can't believe someone would steal an item like that let alone on more than one occasion. They were high end but still...frustrating in more than one way!
