Went to their Mardi Gras in the early 80's. Saw the cops beat the hell out of a drunk that broke a window trying to get away from them. When we first got there, my roommate locked my keys in the car. We had to call someone, wait an hour for them to find us, and pay them $50. Spent the night saying, "NO", to underage girls that wanted me to buy them liquor. This was when you only had to be 19 to buy legally in Texas. I was past dealing with jailbait at 28 years old.
The beach looked like crap that weekend, but it was cold enough to need a jacket. As someone said, it's brown and hard. Looked like a parking lot for a real beach.
