Then proceeded to tell everyone where you got your $1,000 alligator boots.

It's a land of class and intellect.

Exactly. Ignoring from now on. Clearly nothing of value to add. You and Memphis have valid opinions.

It's just as snobby to say Covington is better than Mandeville, which has been said numerous times in this thread.
It's just as snobby to say Convington is better than Gonzales, which has been said in this thread.
I love the double standard. Basically, I offended the Covington people by crushing their one argument...the schools. Sorry, the catholic and private schools in New Orleans are better than all of the public schools on the Northshore. I'm sorry that offends you.

You mean the silver tipped boots that mommy and daddy bough you for being good and not associating with the "help".
Christ man, you're being such a dick I am finding myself defending the north shore...and I couldn't stand living in that place.

Actually, I clearly said "if money is not part of the argument". There's nothing wrong with looking at all angles of the argument. That's all I did. I showed the part of the argument if money wasn't a factor. I never said I was better than anyone else.

Your true feelings are starting to show Memphis. You know you liked us here. Sounds like your wife brainwashed you into moving.

What do your kids do in Nola that couldn't be done on the NS? What epic adventures are they experiencing that keeps their lives from being boring?
Clearly a shite ton, since every kid I knew from the North Shore moved down here at the first opportunity without looking back. Not a single one remains living across the lake.

It's wrong because it depends on what a child needs. You apparently only know one type of child. That is what makes it one sided and snotty. It's not about the place at all. It's about you spouting off about how much better you are because your kids go to Catholic school. I went to Catholic school my whole life. And I still wouldn't send my kid to one because it wouldn't provide what he needs to be successful. It's less about the argument over NS/SS and more about your myopic, privileged view point that you spout as fact when you clearly know nothing about any other type of life.

I'm pretty sure you mean as adults, and no one is denying NOLA's attraction to adult aged individuals.

My SO and his friends were the same. And now that they're all married and having kids, guess where they live?
Posted on 9/3/14 at 5:24 pm to drunkenpunkin
They obviously do not have successful careers, resulting in them being poor and moving to the NS.
Posted on 9/3/14 at 5:32 pm to Black n Gold
Yes. That is exactly it.
Really, this place is a bit boring after 10:00 except for the bars and the people are very cliquish. But, my kids are happier (and healthier) than they've ever been. I am very happy living here. And when my friends visit (which they frequently do) they all want to move here. It's a really nice place overall.

Have you been to the new movie theater? Worth it?
Posted on 9/3/14 at 5:38 pm to Black n Gold
I have not. Tried to talk my SO into it Sunday night but he wasn't impressed with the menu. We just went to the regular one. I want to go though just to try it.

I heard the food is actually pretty good.

Looked fine to me, but he's super picky. I made him promise to take me soon. We ate at Cafe Lynn the other night before the movie. It was one of those we tried to go to once and they were closing up at 9:00.
