And you live in Memphis? I'd rather stay in Mississippi than move to Memphis, TN.

Of course not. All I'm saying is it makes no sense to move to Covington for public schools. They aren't good, at all.

False. They aren't as good as Mandeville but are still good relatively speaking.

It was crazy. Wife and I did several thing to get involved in the community and, frankly, the people from there were just assholes. If you are not already in the clique, forget about ever feeling like you belong there.

So you're the guy who hated highschool because he got pushed in the bushes.

For the record I lived in Memphis before I lived in Covington. And as shitty as Memphis can be, it was pure Heaven compared to Covington.

I can't agree with anything bad about the area, but he's right about the standoffish people.

The only connection Memphis has with Heaven is that you will surely end up in the later quickly by living in that place.

NO, I had fun in HS.

I hated Covington because it's a shitty town mostly full of shitty people. Very pretentious, especially for what it is.

The people of Covington are a lot like Ole Miss fans. Walking around with an unearned arrogance and sense of superiority.

I'd still rather pay to send my kid to Jesuit or Brother Martin. In my opinion, if you truly care about academics, then you shouldn't care about the cost of schooling. The Catholic schools on the Southshore are better, academically, than any of the schools on the Northshore. The curriculum in the Catholic schools is, in my opinion, more rigorous and better prepares children for college.

I can't speak for the private schools such as Newman and Country Day, but I'd wager that they are both academically superior to the Northshore schools as well.

Again, I'm talking about if money is not a concern and that academics are your main concern.

People like you astound me. You really have no idea that not everyone can do that. Not even speaking of cost. Not all kids can go to those private schools. There are many different types of people in the world other than the rich, white, healthy kids you have undoubtedly been surrounded by your entire life.

I've been trying to move my family to the North Shore (Covington/Mandeville), but I doubt it will happen now.

Memphis Tiger is right, people from Covington are a little stand offish if you are not a raised local, but then again, almost all of northshore is a little snobby/stuck up..

I guess they are proud that TTT is from northshore..
