I used to really dislike the guy- but then if you go back to where he started, he was just a poor kid from Indiana on his paw paws farm.
He and his buddies would video their antics which typically involved welding and then beating up stuff- like the time he put floater tires on his pickup and went disc with it.
Then it, uhhhh, accelerated from there.
The helicopter in his shop was hilarious.

Initially, WD pissed me off too, when I first found him. But there's actually some brilliance in his persona that he's created.

She posts her income from affiliate marketing, sponsorships, and YT ads, and she’s pulling in $250k+/year. For a midsized, mediocre, not-really-watched channel.
We’re in the wrong business.

I get the economics of it but it just seems wasteful to destroy such a wonderful piece of engineering and craftsmanship.
I guess moneywise it makes as much sense as a citywide fireworks display that costs several hundred thousand dollars.

He gives me anxiety because I can’t comprehend how someone could not GAF enough to make money doing what he’s doing to things I could never afford.

I agree. Regardless of whether or not he can afford to lose the money, he's destroying something that many people have put their passion into building. He has no respect.
