I’ve heard of Americans getting contract work overseas in places like Southeast Asia and living like kings for a while. Where does one find those kinds of jobs?

Some is through job relocation. Some become English teachers...which they can earn a very good living...maybe upper middle class. Some can earn on average 2k a month which is a lot since most people I talk to make around $300 a month. It's crazy the demand for English teachers there.

Does one need an English degree or teaching certification to get paid? I remember seeing ads for one such program in China, but if you didn’t have an English degree and teaching certification then you basically lost money on the deal.

You don't need a English degree or any degree. But all you need is a TEFL certification(total cost around 1k). But having a college degree helps. That and being white....seriously.

I might. I’m unemployment and back living with my parents after getting divorced. Literally the only thing keeping me in South Louisiana right now is my band I play in with my friends.

these are all things that you can change. even if you start off by walking a mile every other day that is still a start. work on your diet and move more.

They have a high standard of living like the US. For the most bang for your dollars, I'd suggest Southeast Asia...Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines. More fun too.

What does this even mean? Pick up a guitar and learn a few chords. You’ll be surprised at the reaction girls give you when you tell them you play guitar.

you don't have to go to a class to exercise more. you're just making excuses.
