it was first come first serve. People would show up 2-3am and write their name on a list taped to the front door. The parking lots would fill up. The workers wouldn't show up until 9am and start calling people on the list in the parking lot.
Not doubting you, but the show showed the clinic showed opening up around 11:00 pm. Was this another office you went to?

No 08. I meant messed up. This documentary has nothing to do with meth.

It doesn’t help that some of the addiction clinics are no better than the holy trinity stamped-rx pain clinics. There are several in NOLA that patients told me accept cash only, overcharge for mandatory drug screenings, have no mental health follow up, not properly weaning patients off, etc.
I noticed a big difference after working in a different area. There are clinics out there that bill insurance, actually do the prior authorizations to get prescriptions covered, and wean patients off the buprenorphine products. But there aren’t enough.

Has anyone talked about how Purdue is still cashing in on this by manufacturing buprenorphine for opiate addiction?

quote:while trying to get clean I was never able to find a buprenorphine clinic that took insurance. Only cash. And that's if you could even find a place where you could get an appointment. I think the doctors allowed to prescribe had only a set quota of patients they could treat monthly. And if you miss your 'cash only' appointment, you are discharged and have to go back to the drawing board searching for a new clinic.
buprenorphine products.

Cash only buprenorphine clinics are a scourge. They have absolutely no incentive whatsoever to get patients weaned off.

Yeah he said people were sick in the parking lot, and he realized later on they were dope sick.
Pretty wild how she operated. I thought I went to a pill mill, but now realize how above board they did everything. It was a pain clinic, but they explored other avenues for pain management other than opiates. They still handed out opiate prescriptions pretty easily, but they drug tested at every appointment. Failed the drug test for anything other than opiates, they'd no longer write prescriptions. And if you didn't test positive for opiates, they'd ask questions to make sure you weren't selling them.

Legal drug dealers
Would not surprise me if they were bankrolled by illegal drug dealers....paying off their med school loans, for example

It is harder than ever for bad actors to get away with this for long. The PMP database makes it easy to flag bad prescribers and pharmacies.

Was that Nola East Dr. good looking back then? She seemed pretty hot. (not later after the car accident and interviews)

Agree
Although I think subs possibly saved my life for a short period of time, it's something that should be used very sparingly and not a crutch. One maybe 2 months at most and coupled with mental health.
The cash only clinics incentives people to sell some of their Suboxone strips on the black market for $20 per to help them fund their doctor and prescription cost.

Were you in a car accident, or injured in any way, or were you strictly getting the pills to get high or sell them?
