Question though if your taxi drivers you have been using have been loyal to you. Why are you switching to another service. I cant see why you would switch. Seems like you get picked up in decent time. You know the guy really well and can rely on him.

They haven't been loyal; they have just been the only option.

The cabs smelled bad. Really bad.

They were only available about 50% of the time (but would tell me they weren't available).

They were considerably more expensive than Uber.

I switched because there is a much more reliable, affordable and CLEAN service that is ALWAYS available. Did I mention cars are ALWAYS available here?

And, I'm talking about Uber Black and Uber Black XL being cheaper than cabs.

Brother, business isn't personal--it's business. I was loyal when they were my only option.

"Loyal to you"? I am paying for a service. I don't want to have to lean on some personal relationship.

If it turns out that I need a special relationship with some particular Uber driver for reliable & fast service (or at least as fast & reliable as YC,) then you will be on equal ground from my perspective.

Why would you expect loyalty from someone who paid you to do something for them a few times in the past?

Yeah but they only have uberx and black car here in Nashville. I think some of the black cars here are Suburbans but some are Town Cars I believe.

Ok now I have another ? It took me 30 sec to figure this out. If that uber driver turns phone off it can no longer be gps tracked. YC on the other hand thought of this. The driver has no access to power button. It is locked behind lock and key. So I would say YC is looking out for your safety if you ask me. I mean am I wrong in that thought. Also every cab is tracked 24/7.

To the pizza guy, I used that as example to show that it is not always the companies fault. I also delivered pizza during high school. I know how it works as well. We could debate that example several different ways. Should that company deliver to the next patron first, should they blow off the one who got address wrong. Was it him that gave wrong address or was it the call taker. There are several different factors that go into play there. It is the same with every company. Take going out to eat. Is it the waiter's fault if food takes to long to get there. Did he put order in right away. Did kitchen botch the order, did kitchen make food and he never pick it up. Yes you could just make a general statement and say it's companies fault on that one. Let's roll with that one though. There is a problem with something in their system. Problem here is you take it out on that employee instead of the company. Same with cabs. Customer will get in with a drink or something. I will go even less they will pull stick of gum or candy out of pocket or purse. Where does the wrapper go? On the back floorboard. Why because it's not theirs so they don't care. So let's take that into the biz model you all keep screaming about. YC is there to get you from point A to B. Not to be your maid or pick up after you. I get it though we are suppose to shut up give you 5 star service at 1 star price. How silly of me to think we should be treated with any respect.

First of all, when you made your ad hominem attack "now I can see why you're a pizza delivery guy," you directed it at the wrong person. I was the only person who mentioned that I had delivered pizza within three pages of that attack.

Now I can see why you're a cab driver.

Also, when we take an order over the phone, we always say the order will take 30-45 minutes to deliver. There is no "system" that looks at the map and tells you where the customer is and how long it should take. If there is, it's meaningless at best and wrong at worst and you know it. Also, when we say 30-45 minutes it usually takes about that long give or take 10-15 minutes either way. When we are busy, we admit to it and say 1 hr - 1:30 hr. We don't say 15 mins every single time like YC. Never have I had a YC scenario where we tell the customer 30-45 minutes and we get there 4 hours later. YC sucks in that regard.

Also, those times we have tabbed down a wrong address, either I or another employee didn't confirm it before sending the order through. That happens more often than the customer getting it wrong, but you are of the mentality that the customer is always wrong. ALSO, usually when we have the wrong address, the order it affects most is THAT ORDER, not the others behind it, reason being that if a driver is taking 2 or 3 orders on a run they are all on the same side of town in the same direction close to each other. The most time wasted is thus 5-10 mins and the other orders still get there within a reasonable amount of time. Also, if you have delivered you know the company tries to send you out with as few orders as possible and most times you only take one or two orders at a time.

Just face it man, YC sucks. What I don't get and what i'm surprised no one has asked yet is why are you sticking up for the company that fired you? Why don't you just take your car and go work for Uber? Did you fail your background check, or did they turn you down for another reason, like your car looking shitty?
