Not my kid but friends college-age kid says he won’t drink alcohol until he’s 25 because that’s when prefrontal cortex finishes developing.

My 17 year old granddaughter lives with me. Works two jobs (one an acting job with a theater company) goes to high school for two classes a day, college for three classes a semester. Paid her own tuition, handles 100% of her own affairs.

She's maintenance free. More responsible than most 40 year olds. She did a radio interview the other day and was extremely impressive, would never know she's 17.

She's more responsible than I am.
