Tiktok has told them Twitter is not any different than before, and that tiktok is the only guardian of free speech. Addiction to TikTok, listening to “influencers” who just make more money on TikTok than elsewhere or are paid by tiktok to push tiktok as the free speech savior, subliminal messaging, or all of the above has messed with their brains.

I love how confident you are in all your bullshite when it's clear as day you've never been on tiktok

I would much rather be spied upon by the Chinese government than my own.

As far as influencing teens, thats generally what social media is for....

It actually didn’t require any clarification. The law is public. Non-tiktokers knew service could initially still continue, and that it was China that completely pulled the plug. This was China doing what China does and tiktokers eat it up. Tiktokers going with the blue “ignorance is bliss” pill.

Did China follow the law prior to deadline and prior to shutting it down themselves?
quote:

Before the divestiture deadline, the company that owns the designated application must provide users their data from the service at their request and in a machine readable format.

Giving them an extension after deadline has passed and ban has already started and/or going light on enforcement will backfire on Trump. It also is not likely legal unless bytedance has a buyer in place and just needs the time to finalize the deal. There is zero chance any of the below has happened, and I don’t think it will be done that quickly
quote:

president may grant a one-time extension of the divestiture deadline by as long as 90 days if a path to a qualified divestiture has been identified, "significant" progress has been made to executing the divestiture, and legally binding agreements for facilitating the divestiture are in place.

I don’t expect to agree 100% with candidates I supported, but Trump making tiktok a day one priority is embarrassing as hell.

The below better be enforced by Trump as it’s been 270 days since tiktok was designated, and no sale appears to be so far along that legally binding agreements are in place and significant steps done in divestiture process.
quote:

PAFACA prohibits the distribution, maintenance, or updating of "foreign adversary controlled applications" by web hosting services and app stores unless the application's owners execute a "qualified divestiture" within 270 days of the application being designated as a foreign adversary controlled application.

quote:

to be a "foreign adversary controlled application"; the definition covers websites and application software, including mobile apps. The act explicitly applies to ByteDance Ltd. and its subsidiaries—including TikTok—without the need for additional determination, with the company to become compliant by January 19, 2025
quote:

Web hosting services and app stores that do not comply with the restrictions on distribution, maintenance, and updating of designated applications are subject to civil penalties of $5,000 per U.S. user that accesses, maintains, or updates the application, while the owners of designated applications are subject to civil penalties of $500 per U.S. user that is not provided their data as required by the law.

This was china’s play all along. They didn’t have to shut it down completely. They knew what would and what would not be affected by law unless they are as dumb as their tiktok users. The ploy was to get emotional tiktokers to start crying.

Pushing Trump as the hero feeds his ego to make poor choices.

Trump bending the knee to China is absolutely pathetic. How is TikTok a higher priority than the border or economy or any of the real problems Americans face?

frick those communist bastards!

Mad? No device or router of mine touches base with tiktok. I am the same as always.

This was pure China propaganda from the start of shutting it down completely. Did you know it didn’t have to happen?

Everything China said they got clarification on was already clear in the law.

Trump has done nothing yet, and unless a deal is basically in place to divest the application and any maintenance updates of it should stay banned in App Stores and websites. The law never required tiktok to stop service from being assessable in the US and never required US internet providers to ban tiktok IP addresses.

Read the law before continuing to look like an air headed tiktoker. China is screwing with tiktokers for themselves. They are laughing at how US users love China due to following their propaganda instead of reading the law for themselves. Getting it back up so quickly is more proof of that.

Y’all are so giddy being feed addiction that y’all would vote for them to take over our country right now.
