A drive through car wash with one of those screens where you pay and choose the wash you want had a worker out there giving options of different car washes and then had a tip option at the end of it.
That’s not reaching it’s peak; that’s having jumped the shark.

personally find it annoying that someone is helping with the options. It’s self explanatory.
THIS. I went this morning and the guy comes walking over after I am half way through selecting the wash and paying and squeezes between the car and kiosk to try and take over. I told him that I am fine and to move. They make self service shite and then try to get involved. Either have the guy out there to take payment and provide service or make it self service and leave me alone.
I got downvoted to hell on here one time when I mentioned how aggravating this was. "They're just there to help you". No, they're there to try to push the stupid membership that I don't want or need. I'm not a genius, but I can read on the screen where it says how much the wash costs and what it does. I don't need to bring another human into this transaction, go away.

And it’s not like they’re waiters. They’re getting paid at least minimum wage. The whole thing with tipping servers is due to their hourly pay being lower than minimum wage
Just a reminder. California, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, and DC pay full minimum wage of their location plus tips.
I hardly tip at all where I live. I save those tips for when I visit states with a tip credit.
