Cell moving into extreme SE Dallas County could do something once it gets up north of I-20, something to watch.
Also, reports of damage with the Denton cell

So I'm stuck in traffic in Frisco and my car screams a weather alert saying there is a tornado warning at current location. However, car radar shows nothing right here (delayed) and my weather apps show the weather to be more toward Denton.
Am I missing something important?

Looks to be N of you, moving even more NE. Think you'll be fine.

Keep in mind, most warning alerts such as that one go by county not polygon. so if the polygon is over part of your county, even if its not th epart youre in, the automated alert will say you are in the warning, even though you arent

Thanks. Finally found a radar that showed it closer to Denton.

If that isn't a huge wedge on the ground then that is a super low meso on the live feed

And to follow up: public alerting technology is having fits trying to keep up with the rapid increase in granularity of weather location and prediction.
On one hand, you said "my car screams an alert". Broadcast radio? One FM transmitter can cover a radius of up to 100 miles. Even a cellular "cell" from one tower is still miles-wide at best. Still hard to pinpoint an alert area that can now be located down to street-level.
On the other hand, you also said "car radar". Hmmm, maybe I'm driving the wrong car these days....

My new car screams all alerts within a 20 mile radius or within the path of my destination. I think it uses gps. It does have a weather radar but it's a fixed radius and not very good unless you're already way too close.
ETA - that tornado looks huge. Is that because it's rain wrapped?

left is base reflectivity, right is base velocity.
