On more than one occasion, I've heard morons decry the state of obesity in children; how they are fat and stay inside and play video games all day; "we" used to play outside all day until the street lights came on etc. etc..

Then five minutes later, they would say,"That n***** monkey b**** ain't gonna tellME or MY kid how to eat".

But that runs right in line with a 1.5 trillion dollar tax cut for corporations and rich people, but no money for poor kids to see the doctor.

It all starts at the prek level, children at that age can learn what healthy foods and snacks are. You just have to get the faculty and staff to buy in and have the teachers make learning about foods interactive and fun.

Parents then need to reinforce these healthy habits or enforce them if they don't already

Absolutely not a bipartisan issue

do think most cheap food is bad for you, but I think parents should have control there.
Don't blame schools for fat kids, a small burger or slice of pizza with milk won't make you huge.
Unlimited snacks and sugar drinks at home do.

But how can you expect the parents to do this?! They’re all busy working three jobs and can’t afford Whole Foods and live in “food deserts” where they can’t access fresh organic produce! They’re almost literally starving!

Kids aren't getting fat at school, never were. Love when fatties try to tell me what's healthy to eat.

No but I'm sure that lack of physical activity and childhood obesity are nationwide trends

And so what, you turn to the republicans? To the party of the rich and the deceptive?

Im not a Republican but youre misguided.

Both political parties are captured by large donors. The Republican partys base are mostly middle and working class. In the past they would have been considered moderates. The Democrats base is more diverse. Its mostly black folk, blue-collar union yankees, students and to a smaller degree, rich, liberal elitists.

No working man or woman should vote republican. If they do they are either stupid or so misguided they can’t see the forest for the trees

Cuz they're too incompetent (read: government) to make food healthy AND appealing.

Ah gone are the days where 200-lb football players school lunches consist of a piece of turkey and 3 carrots.

Can you give specifics?

For the record, I dont think people should be voting for either party but I think youve been drinking bipartisan kool-aid.

What exactly is it about the Republican Party platform that appeals to a working class guys in Louisiana?

other than this perceived idea that democrats want terrorists to come and blow up Americans, what is it that makes the republicans so grand? Is it their economic plans that cater exclusively to the already wealthy? Is it their medical plans that cater to only those who can afford insurance? Is it their social program plan? Oh right, what social program plan? Is it their human rights plan that basically says anyone other white hetero Anglo Saxon male Protestants don’t matter? This is the same party that cursed and threatened to murder jfk for one - being catholic and two - starting the civil rights movement and women’s lib movement.

So honestly, please, tell me what makes the republicans so great.
