I put the TV on sleep and bury my face in pillows.

Usually out within 10 min.

Melatonin

Melatonin doesn't work for me. I take trazadone and it works wonders for me.

Every night for me. I end up browsing this site and others on my phone like now. Clonopin helps when I'm desperate, but it wipes me out the next day.

I start regretting the past to the point I need to throw up. And I'm 24 with no real bad past actions or events. Nights are hard.

That is part of your problem. You get caught up, running more thoughts through your head.

I bet instead of trying to sleep you keep checking to read the responses to your post.

Turn on the TV. Since I don't like sleeping, I can easily stay up all night. If I turn off the lights, I'll be up until the sun comes up and then I'll just get up then. TV distracts me enough to fall asleep. It takes a hour or two for me to doze off, but it works

I've done the whole sleep study thing. it was a waste of time. one night in a hospital bed hooked up to a bunch of wires while only sleeping on my back is in no way indicative of how I sleep every night.

I can usually manage the racing thoughts and fall asleep, but I wake up 4-5 times a night and it takes forever to fall back to sleep.

Maybe ask about trazodone. It is a antidepressant sleep pill you take as needed with your regular medicine.
