I'm in manufacturing and construction, so it's hands on stuff that can't be done from home, thankfully. I couldn't do WFH.

but I’m surprised that there are still work environments where salaried employers are evaluated by how much time their butt is in a chair at the office instead of fo they perform their assigned tasks in the needed timeframe.
a big problem w/ work from home for me, at least early on, is i'd be waiting on someone who was walking their dog or some shite at 10:22 am. seems like lots of people think they have a job where that works but it really doesn't.

I generally agree with the OP premise that working from home is odd in the sense that human interaction is severely lacking. It's almost strange to realize this may be the rest of my life.
that said, I lose zero productivity from home, and the flexible hours (with the ability to be at my desk within 5 seconds should anything need to be done during non work hours) are actually better suited toward what I do.
if given the choice between 100% work from home, 100% back to office or a hybrid model, I'd still choose 100% work from home. spending more time with my family and less time commuting (which was about 90 min per day previously) is invaluable.
