Actually this state just raised consumption taxes and lowered income taxes for most people. It's a step in the right direction.

Most that don’t know what they’re talking aboutwould agree that a consumption tax is somewhat reasonable.

But one of the lowest for income and property tax.

Thanks for playing.

Alabama: Another state with favorably low rates, around 0.40%.
Colorado: Homeowners here enjoy rates around 0.51%.
Louisiana: Rates in Louisiana generally fall below 0.55%.

Mine got cut by about three grand two years ago. I see no increase this year.

You are probably in the minority. I’ve never really complained about the property taxes bc, unlike Louisiana, I can see where the money goes. Great roads, lower crime, good schools. The last 2 years, though, the hikes have been very noticeable. This year was the first time our appeal to the tax assessor was denied on both properties, as well, and both properties showed a dramatic increase in taxable value.

I just cut a check for over 10k for property taxes for my house in jefferson parish.

I pay significantly more in taxes in Louisiana than I did in Texas.

Well not everyone has income, consumption is more fair fricking.

Maybe if I was a dead beat, I wouldn't care getting fricked on income.

Yes, using the governments money to pay taxes sent to the government makes perfect sense. Doesn’t create any waste administering the programs

If you want to fairly distribute the tax burden, you would advocate for no income or consumption tax in favor of property taxes.
