And still under $3/gal. Would you rather pay for gas at average price per gallon during Trump’s term or during Biden’s term?

Under Trump. Would rather the production capacity under Obama though. Non-pandemic prices were better under Obama as well.
Now can you answer my question?

Why are you worried about the price during Trump’s term instead of what’s the situation currently? It was probably because our economy was cooking (GDP increasing) under Trump unlike now when we’re in a recession. Again which would you prefer?

It's ok to say you have no clue what policy is driving the record increase and now decrease.
There are policies that are traps for O&G, but none of them are the catalyst for what happened the last year or so.

Other than the hit my 401k has taken (under Trump and Biden) I don't really care. shite is more expensive under Biden, but wasn't on the shelf under Trump. Since that is historical timeline you view things in.

So policies under Trump or Biden have been worse for the price of gas genius?
That’s what I was replying to earlier. You take 1 segment of gas prices under Trump and try to argue his policies were bad for O&G. I was replying to others who took only the time of the shutdown as the reason for low gas prices during his term. Again the underlying issue is which term would we prefer our gas prices to be. And I would also prefer the returns of my 401k under Trump’s term as opposed to Biden’s. There’s nothing this clown in office has done to benefit the people of this country
And don’t give me this worn out bs that President’s policies have no effect on gas prices

Negligible difference.
Worse for the future of the industry, no doubt.

Which brings us back. What Trump policy caused the price of gas to double in the final year of his presidency?

It sure didn’t seem like a negligible difference when gas under Biden was $5 + /gallon.
Only after selling off a large portion of the SPR and now starting to reverse some of his earlier negative policies towards O & G are we seeing a decline in prices. We’ll see if this trend continues

And what policies under Biden caused this massive increase in O & G prices?
Educate me? Maybe better yet educate the clown in office since you seem to insist on choosing a segment of Trump’s term rather than the whole of the current clown’s

Biden's policies could be detrimental long term.
Trump would have seen the same issues, to what degree is debatable. Was already showing before he left office.

If hypothetical projection of something in the past makes you feel better about the current state of O&G policies in this country, go for it. Try it for your 401k returns also. I often reminisce about better times as well

Wait until the RINS market collapse and some of these O&G companies lose their arse.
Gonna blame someone other than O&G again.

Next few months will be interesting on price. Recent freeze hit gas stocks and there are several major refineries about to slow production for turnaround season (some of the first majors since coming out of covid).

The climate change and emission reduction narrative is not encouraging more investment in new production, either.
Thank God. This has to stop.

This is revisionist history at it's best.
