People are so used to TV shows and news. Cops and other LE show a ton of restraint all the time. Way more often than gets shown. Hell, we used to have watch threads here for that Live PD show and all the time posters would joke about how they would have lost their mind already or reacted way more aggressively. This is the kind of manipulation and social engineering that causes people to think and act like idiots.

My cousin is LEO and he has driven drunk drivers home instead of arresting them.
He's a great guy, but I'm pretty sure it was mostly to avoid paperwork

Coincidentally, just happened to have occurred in a city where some of the largest taxpayer fraud ever was found a few weeks before.

My dad was a former BRPD in crime scene specifically. Ended up in fingerprint division. Only worked extra duty as security at Walmart and Exxon. The shite he would see at Walmart… and only had one arrest.

The crew who filmed it was making a documentary. They didn’t realize they had the footage until one of them recalled seeing that Pretti before. It also explains the decent footage. It wasn’t an iPhone.

Maybe if ICE was getting any help from the local PD. Border Patrol and ICE aren’t state or local PD. Where would they book him? How would they transport him? How much time to they take on him while their other objectives (illegals) have to wait?
