27 and then 29.
I wish they had the cumulative scoring then like they do now. Basically it takes your overall highest in each section after all of your attempts. Would have broken 30.
Didn’t matter in the end, only needed a 27 for TOPS

quote:no shite Sherlock. A 24 back in the early 90s was a very good score. Nowadays a 24 isn't that great of a score. I don't even think you can get into LSU with a 24. But back in the day you could get into pretty much anywhere. Except Acedemic schools.
? ? you're ranked against your peers. ACT percentiles haven't changed since the exam was changed to a 36 point scale in 1989. Sorry buddy

18, 19, 21, 26. Still don't know how I made the 26.

Math - 31
English - 31
Reading - 31
Science - 24
29 overall. I stressed hard every time I took that test and was wiped out by the time the last part (Science) came around. Took it 3 times (28, 28, 29) and each time, the other 3 scores improved while the science part went down.

Not from what I remember. It was pretty average, but it would get you into most regional schools. Most scholarships, even the smaller ones, wanted at least a 25 before they'd even look at the application.
At least that was my experience at my high school. We had 3 or 4 kids get a 36, and a dozen or two get over a 30. 24 was about middle of the pack.

I got a 24 on my first attempt. Combine that with my 4.0 senior year, that was all I needed to get into LSU.

I took it at the end of my Junior year in 1968...
my lowest score was math at 19 (which kept me out of Math 1A - remedial)
my highest was 36 in social studies (which they had back in those days)...
the other two scores were mid 20's with a composite of either 27 or 29...
