My company's policy is kinda funny with vaca.
I'm high enough up in the ranks to get the max # of vacation days per year. I honestly do not even know how many I get. I think it is 28, 29, 30, or 31.
Problem is it doesn't matter at all. You can only carry over 10 days to the next year max (not 10 each year either). If you are fired they don't pay out vacation days or it may be capped at 5 or 10, but it isn't much. I think it is 1 week.
Then everyone has minimum billable hour requirements for the year which require averaging about 45 total hours a week and 35 billable a week.
Then we get 8 or 10 holidays.
So it really makes zero difference how many days you get. If you take 10 days off and all of the holidays, you are going to need to work about 10 weekends. Basically it ends up about 8 holidays, 10 days off, working several weekends and the other 20 days of PTO I get are 100% meaningless and just get erased every January 1st.
