I went so far as to stop listening to local radio. All they were talking about was COVID, BLM and protests. I started listening to Pandora in my truck.

Orgeron did care, as evidenced by his statement. He didn’t throw a hissy fit, but I’d imagine he didn’t enjoy being cast as a backwoods idiot on live TV, when part of his job includes convincing national recruits he knows what he’s doing. I care because it’s funny to see ESPN making him a punchline knowing now what he was about to do with the program.

I agree with pretty much everything you said here because it’s logical and makes sense.
The only problem is, the narrative of the offended people. Even if the person they were joking about laughs and has a good time with it, the idiots on the internet would somehow be offended and cause a storm. Hence why this doesn’t happen to and black or minority person.
But again, I agree with what you’re saying and it’s just nuts how being sensible nowadays is seen as insane.
