If this is an older machine with a central agitator, $5 agitator dogs and the removal of one bolt will fix ya.

does your washing machine have an agitator in the center of the drum ? If so, its probably a coupling. its plastic and its designed to break before the motor burns up. cost about 15-20 bucks and 20 minutes tops to fix.

He's great for warranty, but he's also great for out of warranty and being as low price as possible. He will hear you out before hand and give you an idea. He's an extremely nice guy.
