I had a final that day and it sucked.
BTW I travel back and forth from Denham Springs
I remember it started snowing very early that morning. How was the traffic on the interstate?

shitshow on campus back in '08
One of the best all-nighters where I didn't study a lick. By the time my 9am final rolled around everything was melted and flooded. Cold wet socks made that final hell

How many inches did BR get in 08? I want to say 4"

I was a student worker at the time. I took a bus to campus and made money doing nothing.
It was a good day.

Last time was just a winter mix that was fairly light imo. Also, the very next day everything melted fairly quickly. This time you'll have rain rolling in Monday night [as the temp drops], then it will turn into a winter mix and finally snow [All thru Tuesday]. Wednesday the snow will stop, but temps aren't going to get high enough for things to melt.

when's this snow supposed to hit, tuesday during the day?
Is LSU closing tuesday a real possibility or does it just look like its going to be wednesday?
most forecasts have it snowing anytime from noon to 9 pm Tuesday, however newer models are showing the snow starting at 11 am. The majority of the ice/snow is supposed to be Tuesday evening. 1 to 3 total inches is expected. Also its not supposed to go above freezing Tuesday, meaning nothing will melt until Wednesday afternoon.

freaking horrible.
I felt like I was driving in a blizzard going 20 mph on the interstate, until I got to O'Neil where traffic was at a standstill (before construction on I12 was complete)

Plus they're predicting a high of 39 Wednesday. We may not even make it to 39 depending on the amount of ice on the ground. Then a low of 23 Wednesday night means all that will freeze right back.

I assume you were late for class? did some people not show up? did they get to take their finals later?

I wish I had the pictures, we had enough snow to build what basically amounted to a Snowman war scene

I can remember a number of major intersections in BR turning into four way stops. Which means people around here act like morons behind the wheel.

Keep in mind that the winter system thats rolling in will be completely different from what we got Friday.
Yep
I'm hoping it'll be more fun

Honestly I thought people were overreacting here until I saw the traffic report. I think businesses and schools will be quicker to keep employees/students home. (all schools were cancelled Friday though)
ETA: So happy I kept my pipes wrapped from Thursday night

yeah they had a bunch of people with no shows, which kinda pissed me off, but after the drive I was ready for it to all be over with.
The professor let them make it up, very nice guy. Was an AgEcon professor

This one should be a blast. Friday was a pain in the arse without any snow.

The worst are the flashing cautions that turn into 4 way stops.

I think both Tuesday and Wednesday are locks for closures. Thursday is the moving piece at this point
