Just got back from a few days in Destin, had the boat so we ran around, pass was really rough and my boat is not set up for that but was able to go and speak with the guys putting out boom in the pass on Friday. They are from H20 Environmental out of Nevada and being put up in the Emerald Grande in the harbor. He said the pass is too strong just to string boom across so they put three levels on each side to catch as much as they can and then skim the middle of the rest. Saturday a wicked storm came in and blew all of the boom about 20 ft on the beach. The boom is pretty useless. Got to examine the containment boom and it is very shallow and really not rigged very well to stay put. Water was awesome!! get it while you can.

Just got back from a week in Destin. Sunday you could catch a whiff of it on the beach when the wind was right but other than that.... nada. During the week the place was deserted.

The MEDIA should be required to help BP pay lost income to those towns because without them hyping this shite out of site, those people's businesses wouldn't now be in jeopardy.

We had a great time on perfect beaches with crystal clear water and caught a slight scent of tar for a few seconds at a time every now and then on one day.
