Could it send oil into the western side of the state like Vermillion Bay West?

It seems like the models have it drifting further and further west minus a storm.

Possible but the path of the storm and volume of oil and its distance from shorelines would all play a role.

Like the old saying goes the solution to pollution is dilution. In other words spreading the oil over a larger area of the gulf and coast line might be a good thing rather than have it all concerntrated in one spot. This is all assuming they stop the damn leak.

This is true. A storm could possibly be a blessing, but it could also be horrific. It's too hard to tell. It would have to depend on the path.

I tend to think this way. It would be far worse than the murphy oil spill during Katrina. How many houses would BP have to buy? Nothing good comes from tropical storms or hurricanes. They interrupt business, destroy property, erode the coastline and now would put oil in places that would have otherwise been unaffected.
