I was told this morning that the the pictures we are seeing now of the pipe broke in half is a recent development and that is why the straw idea has taken precedence over the top hat. Not sure if the pipe broke on its own or if the they did it on purpose. Might have broke when they were initaillay trying to set the "top hat"

I was alos told that because the pipe is now in half there is 6-10x more oil and gas being released than the previous estimates.

In any case I hope they get this thing stopped. I would like to use my camp in cocodrie this summer and summers to come.

Is it just me or has anyone else become numb to more bad news

It would seem if they simply stick it in and anchor it somehow then start "vacuuming" as hard as possible then it might help a little - at least a lot more than they are doing now.

BUT, what they are going to do, because there is nothing grand about the above, is to stick this little tube in and then attempt to seal behind the little tube. What will OBVIOUSLY happen is that too much pressure will be behind the seal and the thing will just blow out the tube. Then they can say, "well, we tried". too bad so sorry.

right

but even if they get it set and start pumping into the tanker, they will create an environment for the hydrates to form in the flowline and the pumping operation will probably be shortlived when the flowline plugs off with hydrates

but I hope I am wrong

you know, it would seem that if you have a high enough vaccum on the system the hydates wouldnt be able to form.

but they would rather build these structures and set back for 2 days taking pictures of their accomplishment and then maybe later think about hooking up a suction. Well, too late, so sorry.
