Corexant has also been linked to lymphedema with subsequent skin slippage. Layers of skin down to the dermis actually slide off of the body. Very toxic stuff.

do you realize that everyone working to solve this loves the gulf as well? probably more than most greenpeace people?

Indeed. It's funny how the freaks never visited before the spill. I don't they love it as much as they love getting worked up.

Corexit is being diluted down to freaking parts per billion or lower in the Gulf. These toxic effects according to the MSDS sheet are not a factor at such low concentrations.

Pardon me if I don't buy it, but we have been given zero reason to believe anyone in the oil in gas industry claiming everything's alright. But I get the feeling BP really has stepped up the clean up efforts.

I mean, this looks like some super absorbant paper towels being used. Tell me, Viva? Bounty? What's the secret to all the success we've been seeing?

Thats not paper towels, it's oil absorbant rags obviously laid down on the island so that the people who are cleaning it can walk over them. They are very thick and do an outstanding job of picking up oil.

You'd think cleanup technology would be a little further along than tiny absorbant rags. I have been blown away by the complexity and abilities of engineering and drilling while reading this board, but I frequently find myself laughing at y'all when I read talk about cleaning it up. I understand there are people who didn't do anything wrong working their arse off to get it out of the marshland and I am extremely greatful, but sorry if I'm going to disregard any talk from someone who's job is on the line that says we're all a bunch of morons and the fish and shrimp are all partying down in the bay and are not at all threatened. They have squandered their reputation by not being upfront with us, so I just assume wait and let it be proven. Fool me once...

eta, says dude who can't spell

Try respecting people whose jobs are on the line.

They type of cleanup often depends on what is oiled and where that is located.

Does this make you feel better. Picture of pom poms and boom and an berm just out of the view.

Picture from Saturday when I was down Elmer's Island.
