could a ship that big, and presumably slow, even drive through 15 million gallons of oil a day? seems like it is so spread out it would be like using a reel mower to mow a football field

"They're about as excited as you can be about something that you have no idea what it can do," said Kati Walsh, a spokesperson for the disaster's Joint Information Center. "They want to remain in a neutral position about it until after it proves itself," she said. "We don't want to get everybody excited about something that EPA may or may not approve."

This is what baffles me. The EPA is concerned that the discharge water may still contain some oil. Doesn't it stand to reason that even if this ship only picks up 80% of the oil and a light sheen is discharged that it is still being effective? The lack of common sense is astounding

hope this thing somehow is allowed in the Gulf, and soon.

The red tape is killing our ecosystem, I don't know how this government can claim themselves to be the party of the environment anymore after seeing this pathetic response

I was wondering this morning, if they would be held to the 29 parts per million monthly average, not to exceed 42 parts per million. Anything would be better than what it currently is, but leave it to the half a dozen agencies that must approve this to impede the process.
