During the middle of Q&A Jindal was interrupted and informed that the White House just said that they would force BP to pay for the 5 remaining dredging projects. Whether or not you agree with the sand berms being the solution, at least we're getting some backing in pushing BP to do something.

Big Deal. So how many more weeks are they going to wait for permits before dredging starts?

Blah Blah. BP to Pay. Blah Blah We are going to make BP pay. Blah BLAH We are in Charge. Blah Blah BP to pay.

Get off their asses and do it already.

Permits are already approved for 6/24 of the dredging projects. Jindal claimed that if they (the state) had the money, dredging could start before sundown today.

That is ridiculous only 25% of the permits approved. Why didn't the feds say move the dredges in, if BP doesn't pay we will make sure that dredge company gets paid?

OH wait we are waiting for Thad Allen to finish reading the comments that people sent him and then he will make a recommendation to the president.

The first six are supposedly pilot berms that will be used to gauge whether or not the remaining permits will be issued. Sounds like it's going to end up being too little too late at this point since we've been waiting three weeks for this to start.

oil will be coming onshore for months. if the berms work, then they will be invaluable.
