Oil in Barataria Bay

As far North as St. Mary's Point. There's a lift rig loaded down with booms at the entrance to Wilkinson Canal. I'm guessing they'll be sealing Wilkinson and Barataria Waterway soon.
The impact of this can't be understated. This is beyond horrible.

This photo is not in Barataria Bay but I believe its on the east side of the delta. but goes to show the complex task we are dealing with in wetlands. A crew is sent in to clean up oil. So much trampling is done it destroys the marsh.
A very effective way is using microbes which can be dispersed using planes. However, with thick coatings like this there is little hope.
