The inpenetrable shield around the oil cleanup industry

Maybe the shield is only in my mind, but from all I have read and watched in the news,a lot of new techniques and materials that have been developed by new companies can`t seem to make it to the spill. I`am not in the oil industry, but that is what I see looking in from the outside. It`a as if they don't want anyone to see how dirty the work of getting oil out of the earth really is. The old saying, the solution to pollution is dilution, comes to mind. Any insight on this?

I agree. A lot of people coming forward and expressing frustration with contacting BP and Feds. Starting to sound like a lot of Brother -in-law deals.

this may be the case but i would offer two points:
there are not resources to try out every idea people walk into the command center with. at some point you have to pick strategies and execute.
also, oil spill cleanup is a heavily regulated industry at the federal level, w/ specific rules about who can participate and what exactly can be done.
maybe there is brother in law stuff going on, i have no idea, but there are some other factors to consider.

BP wants to make it look like they are in full control and have a handle on everything.
26 days and counting now.

I agree to a point. Just listening to radio calls from local business owners with supplies that are not getting calls back from BP etc...

I very aware of the regulations, most which came from the Valdez disaster. But the Valdez had a finite amount of oil and a limited area to the spill. This spill is coming from a earth reserve(a huge finite amount) and a coastal region that will be effected. Every freakin' resource should be used from Grass to hair to boom to diapers to etc....
I guess my biggest frustration is I have no faith in BP or Fed Gov.
to stop it and clean it up. Sad state to be in but that is how I feel.

If what you was hearing on the radio was legit then it would be considered.

Its really frustrating indeed.
Its not over yet and will only get worse for BP as the larger midlevel water plumes start reaching the white sandy beaches of FL.
