Dammit BB, my wallet can't take too much more of this.
Have another rifle sitting at the dealership waiting for pickup. Felt like crap yesterday and didn't carry my happy arse there.
The wife is trying to figure out if I'm going to build our house this year while I keep buying guns and ammo. I asked her what was more important when the zombie hoard get here, guns or house? Wrong question

First Look: Next Generation FN SCAR – Two Dozen Upgrades, Same Price (article link)
LINK

What's Actually New: Next Generation FN SCAR
Next Gen SCAR keeps the same silhouette and core DNA but changes a bunch under the hood. Biggest upgrade is a lighter, hydraulically buffered two-piece bolt carrier acting as a shock absorber. FN swapped to an extended receiver with integrated M-LOK rail at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, replaced the reciprocating charging handle with a non-reciprocating version, and covered the exposed gas block with a 360-degree receiver and rail heat shield.
quote:
Trigger situation splits by model. 16S and 17S get an improved single-stage trigger, 20S gets a new two-stage setup. All three variants have fully ambidextrous controls with three customizable selector levers offering 16 possible combinations. True AR pistol grip compatibility is in, along with improved sling mounts, user-changeable barrels, and Torx fasteners throughout.
quote:
Suppressor capability is built in from the factory. Muzzle profiles use U.S. Standard 1/2x28 (5.56) or 5/8x24 (7.62) threading, designed to work with forward-venting suppressors. FN's releasing their own QD762 and QD556 suppressors alongside the rifles in Q2, and the guns work with other forward-venting cans too. Check out our article covering those here.

Supposed to be less harsh on optics as well.

I’ve been wanting a scar for a long time. I need to just pony up and get one
Posted on 1/15/26 at 8:42 pm to Bama and Beer
My grandfather gave me his 10/22 when I was younger and my dad and I built it all tacticool until literally everything on the gun was aftermarket minus the receiver.
Eventually I got sentimental about wanting it to be back in more original form so my dad bought a brownells receiver to rebuild the tacticool gun with.
I took all the old parts and rebuilt her in stock form except for buying a Ruger threaded barrel with front sight post.
Then I bought a an otter creek titanium 22k (short can like 3”) and replaced the hammer spring with a volquartsen because I wanted to keep the old metal trigger housing.
It is now by far my most fun gun I own. Combine that setup with ~$100 in steel rimfire targets it’s an absolute blast plinking at 25 yards with the open sights just like when I was a kid.
Something about the open sights make it tha much more fun and “unique” now that everyone has an optic.
I’ll post a pic of it when my immigration m1 garand sling comes in. I think it’s going to look slick on the wood.

I had one of these about a year or so ago. They are ok but very heavy.
When I bought it i didnt have to go to a sketchy parking lot off the interstate like where we do business. I swear I have bought drugs at less sketchier places than yesterday......
Thanks for the pistol BnB. It will round out my Sig collection.
