Pucker factor definitely intensifies when making that step.

I remember at Alabama hunters safety that I attended with my son years ago, I was completely surprised to learn that most deaths and falls were one or two men attached stands that fell due to damn straps failing.

I need to replace all mine this year .

He posted today saying that he always wears a harnesses to hunt but he was trying to move a stand quickly and didn’t put it on. Crazy!

Once I get about 10ft high, I connect mine. I’ve put lifelines on my lock ons so I’m clipped in from the start.

Same here. I'm guilty of not connecting my tree strap in my climber until I reach my hunting height, but have done better lately.

Young and dumb, 2003. Climber lost it's bite at about 17' up a tree. Skidded and slid down to the ground. Walked away unscathed except for a busted nose and bark in my cheeks.

I won't take the first step up a lock on or ladder without my harness on.
