Anybody have any luck elk hunting yet?

I worked my tail off in New Mexico last week, the bulls were there but not talking. Frustrating to say the least.

I love watching elk bow hunting on Youtube. I'm trying to convince a buddy to go. I've never been but I want to do it soon.

Going 3rd season rifle this year.
Will need to bring lots of antifreeze. Not sure why I bother buying a tag. I could leave the rifle at home.

Went last year in Colorado at the same time. Was so awesome. Had one elk encounter and we couldn't get a shot off. Followed fresh bear tracks. The scenery alone was worth it.

I think this will be my 6th armed camping and mountaineering trip.
