The marsh has them all over: caught some on live shrimp along with a few white trout recently near Bayou Thomas/Lake Borgne.
If you just call them green trout people won't try to educate you like that.

Forgot about that place. I've sat 25yards in the mouth of Bayou Thomas and caught the trifecta (bass, specks and reds) there once.

I've caught largemouth and bluegill in the lake near the twinspans.

Chef Pass has always had good bass fishing. Shell Beach has some really good bass spots too you can slay them at.
