That freeman 33 is a bad arse fishing machine. Damn the bad luck for that guy. One or two feet either way and it passes through the tunnel or he misses it completely (depending on the size of the object)

Totally unrelated but have any of you seen pics of the 40 freeman with quad outboards?

I just came across this picture on THT. Looks like that wellhead could have been hit at anytime. I doubt that you could see it on radar in a thunderstorm.

with a well head that low in the water, a couple of small swells and that bitch will disappear. Its sad to see such a badass boat go down

Looks like it ripped a gash down the bottom of both hulls. That would be my only gripe about Freeman or Yellow fin is that they are wood core construction and not fully foam filled therefore not unsinkable.

I would imagine so

If I had to guess, the 3 that were air lifted out, we probably thrown but not ejected

From that pic the well head looks to be sticking out of the water by a good 5'. Wonder if he was distracted and not paying attention.

Yesterday's weather at the mouth of the river was pretty bad

I wouldn't doubt they have 5' seas

Update from Capt. Tommy Pellegrin

quote:

The only update I have right now is that Miles (deck hand) had to have plastic surgery on his face and that Capt Josh had broken his face. Just a simple way of saying what happened to him, Fractured jaw, cheek, and nasal cavity. Some of his stuff was saved before the boat eventually did sink.
